Christine Steimer
After the classically career training as a photographer, Christine Steimer started a traineeship at a German news agency in Frankfurt as photo journalist. After several years of working in the ‘actually reporting’ she changed to JW-Tompson, an advertising agency also in Frankfurt – here in the section ‘commercial and people’. Since 1985 she works as an independent photographer. Reportages in Germany and foreign countries for publishing houses like Burda, Springer and Bauer followed. Since 1992 Christine Steimer specialized on the topic ’animals and nature’ for big book-publishing houses like Gräfe & Unzer, Bede, Kosmos, Falken and special-interest-magazines for example Das Tier, Wild& Hund, Der Hund, and also for miscellaneous consumer publications and advertising agencies. Top issues: dogs, exotic animals, rodents and hunting. As yet she picturized about 200 reference books and practice managers and also more than 3000 contributions and reportages.
