The Lago Maggiore

The Lago Maggiore is situated in the Italian regions of Piedmont and Lombardy and in the Swiss canton of Ticino. With a length of 66 kilometers and a water area of 212.5 km² the Lake Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy. Due to the mild climate, the lake provides a flora unique to Central Europe. The shores of Lake Maggiore are very different. While the eastern shore seems to be more wild and natural, the west shore is gleaming with luxurious villas, landscaped gardens and impressive buildings.
